Rob Foster is an accomplished residential designer with over 25 years of experience. His designs can been seen throughout the Carolinas, including Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro, Lake James, Ocean Isle, and Columbia; just to name a few. Rob's home designs can been seen in prestigious communities such as Longview, Stonecroft, The Point, and The Sanctuary. He also serves on the Architectural Review Board for several communities. Rob is a contributing writer in Builder/Architect Magazine and is a judge for the Best of the Lake Competition at Lake Norman.
Rob's easygoing nature and building ingenuity puts clients and builders as ease. "Designing a home to fit an individual's lifestyle means a lot of listening. It is imperative that I hear what my clients say and what they don't say," explains Rob, "they come to me with their dreams. It is my job to turn those dreams into a reality and surpass their expectations."
Surpassing expectations is Rob's trademark. "Every home has an It factor." he says. "It may be a sunken wine room, a raised study, a two-story atrium or a private garden off the master bath." Rob's It factor earned Grimmer-Kempf the Gold Award and Past President's Award in the 2002 HomeArama at High Grove. Rob has earned nine various home show awards just in the past three years. He recently designed the Charlotte home for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, which aired in October on ABC.
Originally from Alexandria, Virginia, Rob's passion and desire to design homes began when he took a drafting class in high school. Rob continued to pursue his dreams in college by studying civil engineering and attaining a degree in architectural technology.
Rob and his family currently live in the South Charlotte area where they have become heavily involved in the community. Dawne, his wife of sixteen years, works with the Charlotte Mecklenburg school system and their two children are both actively involved in sports. Rob's daughter, Ashley, is on her school cheer team as well as a competition cheerleading team that has won several national events. Rob's son, Jordan, is following in his dad's footsteps. He recently achieved his Black Belt in Taekwondo. Rob's other passions are fishing, mountain biking and spending time with his family. "Family time is so precious. Each moment I spend with my wife and kids, even if it's just a weekend drive, are moments I cherish."
